These images are coming a bit late, but considering it was the 50th anniversary of JFK's inaugural address this past Thursday, I couldn't resist posting these pictures from the inaugural gala that was known as a "gilt-edged, mink-lined, silk-hatted, 10-gallon, 100-proof" celebration of the coming glamour in Washington. The guests included some of the most fabulous names of the day, including Mark Rothko, Diana Vreeland, and Ernest Hemingway. I think that night tops my "wish-I-had been-there" list...
